Who We Are

Every year, Georgians study at the world's top 100 universities and carry an education few in the country share — some building careers at home, others across the world. Until now, that achievement has remained scattered: individual, disconnected, and largely invisible to one another.

The World Top Universities Alumni Association of Georgia exists to change that. It brings Georgian graduates and former students of the world's leading universities — Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge, Yale, MIT, Sciences Po, and their peers — together under a single, permanent platform, turning individual accomplishment into a collective force for the country.

Members share more than a credential. They share an outlook shaped by rigorous academic environments, exposure to leading global institutions, and firsthand experience of how the world's most advanced economies and societies operate. Until now, that shared background has never been organized: a Georgian who studied at Oxford might never cross paths with one who studied at Yale, MIT, or Cambridge, despite living in the same city and working in adjacent fields.

Georgia's alumni of top-100 universities are already among the most capable people the country has produced. What they have lacked is a platform connecting them to one another — a lasting structure built to outlast any single cohort or generation of members, replacing coincidence with structure and individual achievement with collective standing.

Our Vision

A Georgia whose most internationally accomplished citizens are known to one another, working together by default rather than by chance — and a Georgia whose voice on the international stage is carried, visibly and consistently, by the people best equipped to carry it.

Organizational Status

The Association is a registered non-profit, independent professional organization (Reg. No. 402353190) that unites graduates of globally recognized leading universities who are connected to Georgia by citizenship, long-term residency, professional engagement, or contribution to the country's national development.

A Message from the Founder

I founded the World Top Universities Alumni Association of Georgia out of a conviction that has grown stronger throughout my academic and professional journey. Having studied at leading universities across the world's three major powers — Yale University in the United States as a Fox International Fellow, Tsinghua University's Schwarzman College in China as the first Georgian recipient of the Schwarzman Scholarship, and Lomonosov Moscow State University in Russia as a PhD candidate — I have experienced firsthand some of the world's most outstanding academic communities and global networks.

Throughout that journey, I met remarkable Georgians across continents — in universities, research institutes, international organizations, and policy forums throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. They were graduates of exceptional institutions, accomplished professionals, and respected experts in their fields. Yet despite their shared background and commitment to excellence, many had never met one another, let alone had the opportunity to collaborate. There was no single platform bringing together Georgia's globally educated community.

That is the gap this Association was created to fill.

My work building Eurasia Access, connecting international investors with strategic opportunities across Eurasia, has reinforced the same lesson from another angle: talent alone is not enough. Connections matter, but the institutions that foster those connections matter even more. Georgia's alumni of the world's leading universities do not need to be discovered — they need to be connected.

This Association provides that platform: a community where members exchange ideas, support one another, build meaningful partnerships, and launch initiatives that would be difficult to achieve individually. More importantly, it serves as a bridge between Georgia and the world's foremost academic institutions, enabling our internationally educated professionals to contribute collectively to the country's development, innovation, and global engagement.

I warmly invite you to become part of this growing community.

Eka Khorbaladze

Founder & President, World Top Universities Alumni Association of Georgia

Mission & Objectives

The Association was founded on a simple premise: Georgia's most internationally educated citizens should know one another, work together, and act as a coordinated force for the country's advancement. Its mission rests on three pillars.

To Connect

Georgian alumni of the world's top universities are, by definition, few in number and widely dispersed — across cities, sectors, and continents. Many have never met, despite decades of overlapping circles. The Association brings them into a single, standing community, replacing chance encounters with deliberate, sustained connection.

To Collaborate

Shared education creates shared standards, shared instincts, and a shared frame of reference. The Association turns that common ground into joint work — ventures, initiatives, mentorship relationships, and projects conceived and built by members, for Georgia and for one another.

To Represent

A country's standing abroad is shaped, in no small part, by the caliber of its people operating on the international stage. The Association positions its members as a coordinated presence rather than a collection of individual success stories — carrying Georgia's voice into rooms, institutions, and conversations the country might not otherwise reach.

Strategic Goals

Human capital.

Strengthen Georgia's human capital by channeling members' global knowledge and networks toward the country's development.

Global partnerships.

Build lasting partnerships between Georgia and the world's leading centers of academic and professional excellence.

Evidence-based policy.

Support research-driven development and evidence-based policymaking through members' expertise.

National representation.

Represent Georgia in international academic, policy, and professional communities.

Cross-sector cooperation.

Promote structured cooperation between academia, business, government, and civil society.

Knowledge transfer.

Facilitate the transfer of advanced international practices, technologies, and methodologies to local sectors.

Membership

Who Can Join

Membership is open to individuals connected to Georgia — by citizenship, long-term residency, professional engagement, or recognized contribution to national development — who have studied at a world top-100 university (QS, THE, or ARWU rankings) or completed a comparable elite fellowship (such as Rhodes, Schwarzman, Gates Cambridge, or Fulbright), whether toward a full degree, on exchange, or for as little as a single semester, subject to verification of attendance.

The Association does not require degree completion as a condition of membership: time spent at a world-leading institution, however brief, is itself a meaningful and formative credential, and the Association is built to include everyone who holds it.

Membership Tiers

Alumni Member

For individuals connected to Georgia who have completed a full degree at a world top-100 university or an equivalent elite fellowship. Alumni Members hold full membership rights, including participation in the Association's governance and general meetings, and access to the complete range of member benefits.

Affiliate Member

For individuals connected to Georgia who studied at a world top-100 university without completing a full degree — including exchange, single-semester, or short-program participation — subject to verification. Affiliate Members enjoy the same access to events, networking, and benefits as Alumni Members, without governance voting rights.

Associate Member

For non-Georgian graduates of leading universities who contribute to academic, scientific, economic, or cultural cooperation involving Georgia, as well as spouses, close professional partners of members, and representatives of partner institutions who wish to stay informed and attend selected events by invitation.

Honorary Member

Distinguished individuals recognized for exceptional contributions to education, research, diplomacy, innovation, or the advancement of Georgia, admitted by invitation of the Executive Board.

Membership Privileges

  • A closed, verified network. Direct access to a community defined by a shared academic standard rather than open membership or self-nomination, so that every connection made through the Association carries real credibility.
  • Collaborative platforms. Structured opportunities to originate and join joint projects with fellow members, from mentorship and hiring to ventures and policy initiatives.
  • Exclusive events. Salons, closed-door sessions, and gatherings reserved for members and their guests, held throughout the year in Georgia and, on occasion, abroad.
  • A verified member directory. Searchable access to fellow members by university, field, and sector, making it possible to find the right person rather than relying on chance introductions.
  • Access to distinguished guests. Meetings and private sessions with prominent figures from government, business, diplomacy, and academia — Georgian and international — arranged specifically for the membership.
  • Mentorship. Participation in structured mentorship, both as mentor and mentee.
  • International engagement. Invitations to partner-association events, cross-border alumni gatherings, and delegations representing Georgia abroad.
  • Visibility and standing. Professional visibility through the Association's platforms and events, and association with a platform that carries genuine institutional weight.

Programs & Activities

The Association's calendar is built around the same principle as its membership: quality over volume. Rather than frequent, generic gatherings, it curates a smaller number of events and initiatives genuinely worth a member's time.

Salons & Closed-Door Sessions

Small-format discussions with senior figures from government, business, and international institutions, held under conditions that allow for candid conversation rather than formal remarks.

Signature Annual Gathering

A flagship yearly event bringing together the full membership, distinguished guests, and partner organizations — the Association's central moment of the calendar year.

International Delegations

Selected opportunities for members to represent the Association, and by extension Georgia, at partner-association events and international alumni gatherings abroad.

Sector & Industry Circles

Smaller groupings of members organized around shared professional interests — finance, technology, public policy, law, and others — meeting periodically to exchange insight and identify collaboration.

Mentorship & Early-Career Support

Structured pairing of established members with younger alumni and current students preparing to study, or recently returned from studying, at top-100 institutions, alongside guidance for Georgian students applying to leading universities.

Policy & Research Engagement

Expert input to national institutions, think tanks, and international organizations, and support for evidence-based policymaking and research-driven development.

Community Outreach

Public outreach and educational development initiatives connecting the Association with schools, universities, and the wider public.

Contribution to Georgia

The Association aims to create tangible, long-term value for Georgia by:

  • Strengthening the country's intellectual and professional capacity.

  • Supporting young talent through guidance, scholarships, and mentorship.
